GOD'S Word is a *"Lamp for our feet."*
A lamp, by implication, indicates just enough light for the immediate area.
We need to recognize that GOD'S Word, as a lamp, will shed sufficient light so that with each step in our walk with GOD, we are equipped with just what is necessary and no more.
In this way we are always dependent on God's daily provision.
GOD'S Word as a lamp shows us the way. It lights the path to prevent our stumbling in the darkness, bumping into unexpected obstacles, or wondering off in dangerous directions, which would lead us away from GOD altogether.
The following are practical steps that will always help us to ensure GOD'S Word is a lamp for our feet and light on our path.
1. Be prayerful before reading Scriptures. (Ask the AUTHOR OF THE BIBLE TO REVEAL TO US WHAT HE WROTE).
2. Be prudent in how we interpret GOD'S Word.
3. Be practical in making sure we apply GOD'S commands.
4. Be patient in waiting on the LORD'S response.
5. Be passionate about sharing GOD'S WISDOM with the rest of the world.
NB: The Word of GOD(YHWH) well understood and obeyed is the shortest route to spiritual maturity.
